Columbus Area Habitat for Humanity Announces 2nd Annual Walk of Faith

COLUMBUS, Ga., April 13, 2016 —

The Columbus Area Habitat for Humanity (CAHFH) today announced its 2nd annual Walk of Faith on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at Rotary Park in Columbus. The goal is to raise awareness and understanding of the CAHFH’s faith-based efforts in the Columbus area.

“We want to continue with an event that we believe will become a tradition and an annual reminder of our bond with the Columbus community as we see more and more families in the Columbus area who need our help,” said Louise Hurless, executive director of CAHFH. “Our primary goal for the event is to educate members of the community on exactly what we do and how it’s beneficial for the community, as well as raise awareness of our efforts.”

From Rotary Park, 1808 Victory Drive, the six-mile route will take participants north on the Riverwalk two miles to the Columbus Georgia Convention and Trade Center. Walkers then loop back heading south on the Riverwalk for three miles before finishing at the Rotary Park start line.

Walking teams, runners and strollers are welcome, with children 10 and younger free when accompanied by an adult. Water will be provided.

Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. with the event starting at 9 a.m. sharp. Registration is $20 and includes an event T-shirt. Walkers can register in advance at: www.columbusareahabitat.comor https://www.facebook.com/columbusareahabitat.

All proceeds will benefit the nonprofit CAHFH and its outreach in the Columbus area.

For more information on how to sign up for the walk and help the CAHFH, please contact Mark McCollum at (706) 653-6003 or mark@columbusareahabitat.com.
