This print of a painting from 1976 hangs in our affiliate office.  It reminds us daily of the inspiration that President and Mrs. Carter have spread throughout the Habitat for Humanity Community.  Our hearts go out to all of his family during his final journey.

Our Mission Statement

Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Our Story

Founded in 1984 as an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry, Columbus Area Habitat for Humanity (CAHFH) built its first house in 1987.  CAHFH has continued to build, renovate and repair more than 375 homes in the Columbus area!  Our efforts have assisted deserving families by creating affordable and safe housing.  Over the years, CAHFH has been blessed to partner with people of compassion who have provided the financial and time resources necessary to carry out our mission.

With over 37 years now of working to address issues through the creation of new and maintaining currently owned housing, CAHFH will continue to address the needs of families to enrich their lives and improve the standard of living in our community.
